In 2004, excited by the promise of river cruising, Avalon River Cruises were determined to invigorate the experience that, at the time, was characterized by older ships, limited space and land excursions operated as an afterthought. Avalon River CruisesAvalon River Cruises was inspired to create a different kind of river cruise experience - one that would embrace and celebrate everything special about the travel style, so we unveiled Avalon Waterways.

With the launch of our very first ship, Avalon River Cruises' inspired design innovations became the new standard, including the introduction of floor-to-ceiling windows and French balconies on two decks of every Avalon River Cruises vessel. We developed a Silent Drive System (SDS) for the stern of each Avalon River Cruise ship to ensure our travelers the most quiet cruise experience possible. We were also the first to bring a larger stateroom with deluxe hotel-style amenities to an entire fleet. And, we elevated interior design from classic and traditional to contemporary and bright.

Maybe it's our Swiss heritage that gives us our passion for details, but Avalon River Cruises is the only river cruise operator that's personally involved from ship design to delivery – and every point in between. American Express® Platinum or Centurion Cardholder

Clients of National Discount Cruise Co who purchase select voyages using either card are entitled to exclusive amenities and benefits aboard most premium and luxury cruise lines.

As a member of Signature Travel Network we are able to bring you some of the best value-added benefits that the industry has to offer. We have group space with benefits on most luxury cruises, but in the event that you should choose a sailing that does not feature benefits exclusive to The Signature Travel Network, American Express Platinum & Centurion cardholders will qualify for the benefits listed below under each Cruiseline.

American Express and Signature Travel Network amenities are not combinable. National Discount Cruise Co will assist you in determining which amenities will be most advantageous for your specific cruise.

On select cruise lines, American Express® Platinum Cardholders are entitled to $300 in shipboard credit or a two-category stateroom upgrade, depending on the cruise line and stateroom category they reserve.
